The clientele

The targeted clients are people with low to moderate income including those in a psychosocial and economic situation. It is  especially focused, however, on the class of workers who risk losing their jobs or may not get one because of difficulties in accessing affordable housing near their workplace. It is designed for the “neglected customer“. Indeed, the majority of social programs aim at unemployed or unemployable, or to maintain the region's growth and promote the common good, must focus on the terms offered to low income. Thus, it will enhance its ability to attract and retain a workforce highly sought by employers.

Among the clientele, priority will be towards couples, immigrants, single parents, single women disadvantaged by social inequality and youth. These clients will form 80% of those targeted.

Exertion

In the spirit of offering the best conditions, the SHAV proposes to act as owner / property manager. As such, it provides management services to buildings and acts as "purchasing company" whose goal is to promote, develop, acquire, construct and operate buildings in order to provide rental units with residential quality at affordable costs for citizens with special needs for housing.

Existing development conditions command that the Affordable Housing Corporation for Vaudreuil-Soulanges be the developer of this project which overseas the conditions prevailing in the establishment of a fleet of 300 rental housing units over the next 3 years. The project aims, first, to meet the needs of workers and, secondly, to restore the balance between affordable housing for seniors (418 units) compared to those appointed for families with low and moderate income (49 units) and have adequate housing to meet the needs of different clients in the region.

Providing access to affordable housing to citizens with low or moderate income, helps to alleviate their economic burden, we struggle against social inequalities and supports the territorial growth.
